Feast of Culture 19-21.08.2023. (CERV)

From August 18th to August 21st, 2023, an international conference called the "Feast of Culture" took place in Sopronkövesd, Hungary.
 
The project brought together citizens from different EU countries, inviting them to engage in free discussions aimed at increasing and encouraging mutual understanding and friendship among EU citizens, thereby promoting closer integration, and strengthening cooperation for local development.
 
The project established formats for participant engagement to facilitate the smooth exchange of opinions and to raise awareness about the importance of European values and gender equality. It included debates on the Future of Europe and discussions about best practices and conclusions related to Covid-19. Over the course of the three-day international event, participants had the opportunity to learn about different cultures, European heritage, and European gastronomy. Additionally, during the weekend, the local Gastropicnic was organized for the fifth time, but this occasion marked the first with international performances from partner municipalities.
   
This event took place in Sopronkövesd, representing the first in-situ international conference organized in this village.
 
A total of 193 international participants and 55 local participants, along with hundreds of local Gastropicnic visitors, joined the activities. Three partners from three EU member states participated in the project: Slovenia (Municipality of Novo mesto), Slovakia (Municipality of Dolné Obdokovce), and Hungary (Municipality of Sopronkövesd).
   
The conference concluded with great enthusiasm and motivation to meet again and work collaboratively on various issues in each partner country and municipality. All participants agreed to continue cooperating and further promoting EU solidarity among EU countries and citizens.
